At Knollmiller & Arenfosky, LLP we have more than 80 years of combined experience in helping clients with estate planning. We provide clients with fundamental estate planning and complex estate planning to serve all unique family units. Both estate planning strategies focus on property, but more importantly, they focus on the client as an individual.
Through Fundamental Estate Planning, at Knollmiller & Arenofsky, LLP, we review all options with the client including having a trust or a will and reviewing how a client wants to be cared for in the event of incapacity and who will be the decision maker on their behalf. It’s important to us to plan for any possible contingency that may occur including provisions for disability, death of both spouses, the needs of a minor or disabled child and instructions for which directions to pass a family business along. The estate planning mechanisms that we prepare our clients for include: revocable living trusts, wills, pour-over will, power of attorney for health care, general durable power of attorney, living wills, and community property agreements.
Through Complex Estate Planning, we use our combined experience to help with wealth planning and have the experience to handle substantial assets to protect the inheritances of all our clients’ families. Although the same planning tools are used for fundamental estate planning, there are additional strategies that are used to preserve assets in complex planning. These include: spendthrift and other trusts that protect heirs and provide income, insurance trusts that can be used to pay estate taxes, charitable trusts that can eliminate federal estate taxes, generation- skipping tax planning to reduce or eliminate future federal estate taxes, and many more.
At Knollmiller & Arenofsky, LLP, we provide these planning techniques and tailor them to individual situations with each client. We offer suggestions of new approaches of how to handle estate plans and provide care and assistance to every client. For more information please visit: www.aboutestateplanning.com
